Images flash across the smooth surface of the mirror: a wounded wizard fights at the doorway of the House at the Edge of Time; the wounded wizard confronts Nyrissa, and dies; worms eat the body in the Knurly Witch's pantry. Finally, Nyrissa looks at the newly created worm body and orders the Witch to destroy the wizard's memory of the event.
